Took 4yr old son after he fell off bicycle to urgent care. He had hurt his collar bone and shoulder. He was in pretty bad shape but he tried to make the best of it. After being there for 2 hours and waiting to see the doctor it was 10:45pm. Not a word from anyone. The place was empty. My son was falling asleep. We left. Very unhappy with the lack of communication and professionalism with the staff. We'll happily see our normal Pediatrician in the AM. I'm sure we'll (our insurance) get a nice bill for sitting in the waiting room and having his vitals checked by a nurse.
Walked in at 350pm on a Saturday. Was seated in lobby. 2min of waiting, I was called back to do my information and vitals/reason for visit. Back out to lobby. About 10 min was called back to the doctor room. Here is where I waited, and waited, and waited. I have been working average of 65hr/week INCLUDING a couple doubles during the week for about 2 months. Because I was working a lot I have been unable to go grocery shopping spend time with my family for more than a month. I was TIRED, hungry, and CRABBY already. Now, in urgent care, I understand that there are patients that are in worse shape, so I might have to wait...SOME. But, in the lobby, there are nice comfortable chairs AND a TV, books, toys, windows, doors, oh ya, and a vending machine...and this is where I spent less then 10min in. Instead I got to sit in a cold uncaring feeling doctors room for AN HOUR AND A HALF! There was no TV, no comfortable chairs to sit on, no windows or vending machines or even freakin' book or magazine. I think any patient would prefer to sit in the lobby while waiting for the doctor to ACTUALLY be ready to service you WHEN you get called into the backroom. Just saying. I WILL be calling. NOT happy. (oh ya, once the doctor did come in, she was VERY sympathetic to my unhappiness and told me to complain. I was done in ?5min? Ridiculous? you bet!!)
Best ER I've been to and I've been to Maple Grove Hospital and North Memorial. The staff at Abott is kind and helpful. The test results are quick and they don't treat you like a number. Go here if you want to survive.
Don't get me wrong they are a good/nice hospital. This is my 1st unhappy experience.
Took my girlfriend into Urgent Care and then the ER. She was in excruciating pain. We had to wait 2-3 hours just to get her onto a bed. She's a trooper for being able to hold out for as long as she did. The nurses are super sweet and nice, the doctor was helpful and my girlfriend felt so much better after her visit. I docked a star because how long this all took, but I understand how much the staff have to go through. They all did a great job and I wish they could be better equipped at night. You should keep more on-call staff for urgent care in my opinion.
If I could give the staff at West Health 10 stars, I would! Went in for irregular heartbeat and fast pulse. Was put at ease immediately by reception and also the nursing staff. Spent 3 1/2 hours in ER and was made as comfortable as possible while they did tests and monitored me. ER doctor was very competent. Even the gentleman that took my financial information was fabulous. I've seen many doctors and nurses over 62 years and this was by far my best experience!
